Summer Fun!

Just thought I'd share a few tunes with you for some summer fun... perhaps you've just had your recital and are looking for something new to try with some of your students.  Here are a few fun ones.

Sneaky Pete    This is about a Grade 3 piece or easy Grade 4 RCM.  Lots of fun with a 007 kind of feel to it.

Swingin'   This one is a late beginner piece... perfect for summertime

Scootle-de-doot  Another later beginner piece... great for moving around the piano.

Enjoy!  Perhaps I will post more later!

Cool Cats

another little tune  - about a grade 2 RCM level

Goblin's Dance

Here's a little Hallowe'en tune for those interested in such things.

I'm estimating it could be used for about RCM level 1 - but a lot of it could be taught by rote.

On Tiptoes

Here is another little tune that I thought might be useful to Introductory level students.

The idea was to make a game out of finding different notes on the keyboard.

Using finger 3 and alternating between hands, and just reading notes in the bass clef,

the hope is that note reading will be challenged and reinforced.

See what you think.

Simple Little Waltz

Finally back at composing a few simple things after a busy summer.

Hope that your late level beginners enjoy this piece.
(it's free, by the way!)

Each tune is illustrated so that if it is printed in black and white, the drawing can have some colour added by the student to make it a little more fun.  If you would like to order a pdf copy with unlimited reproductions, please email me at mary.cumming@hotmail.com  I would appreciate a donation of $50 for the pdf, as proceeds from this project will go to the young illustrator and to my musiclink student who needs some tuning and repairs on her piano. However, any amount would be much appreciated! Hard copies of the book are also available - only in black and white at a cost of $15 per copy, plus shipping. Here are some pictures of the tunes:
