I know this deviates a bit from "piano" but I thought I would share these fiddle tunes that were written by my daughter Evelyn. Evelyn wrote her first tune, "For David" at 6 years old. Then added 2 more tunes "Sir John's Jig" and "Melanie's Jig" when she was 7 and then 8 years old. I am hoping she will continue to write tunes as I think she has a knack for it. If you know of a fiddler or violin player that might enjoy them, be sure to pass them along. She means for them to be enjoyed! I plan to have a piano version of "For David" soon.
This tune was her first tune... written for her fiddle teacher.

I don't have an image of this one, but "Sir John's Jig" was written right after the Maxville Highland games in 2012 - named after Sir John Johnson who founded our local town - Williamstown, Ontario

This is Evelyn's most recent tune - written for David's wife, Melanie - who apparently makes the best cookies ever!

Piano Noodles was created to share my "noodling" at the piano with students and teachers who are looking for some fun, free original piano music to play. If you download a piece, please remember to return and leave a comment - I would love to hear from you! pieces are free for the most part. For some there will be a small fee to download - noted beside the piece. If you enjoy using my pieces, please consider supporting me by purchasing a few copies of pieces. Thanks so much!

Locating pieces according to Level
Each month I hope to add to the compositions on this site. The new ones for the month I will add as posts. The ones from previous months, I will move to the Pages section - where I will put them under their appropriate level... Remember, all these levels are approximate. Under "Beginners" you will find pieces that will range in difficulty - but a beginner should be able to handle somewhere in the first year or two of study. If you find a piece that is in the wrong level, please send me a comment so I can move it to a better level.
Thanks so much for all the support!

Coming Soon!
Interesting and fun pieces to play - isn't that what every piano student and teacher wants? I've started this blog to share some of my original compositions with anyone who is interested. These will be free at least for a time, so be sure to download and save. I hope to add many new pieces over the summer.
I've only recently started to compose, so if you download a piece, I would appreciate your feedback as to whether it was a good fit with the level listed and whether your student enjoyed it. As well, if you see something that just does not look right in the score... then let me know so I can fix it.
I'm so excited to be starting this new blog! My hope is that these pieces will spark some interest in piano students to keep playing and enjoying the piano.
Check back the beginning of July as I should have some pieces available by then. You can also sign up for email alerts so that when I post something new you can keep up to date!
Blessings!
